He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
- Isiah 40: 29-31

I need to find some way to trim my pet terrapin's claws. He(?)'s getting big and strong, and his nails are getting sharp and long. And he doesn't like being picked up. If I'm not careful he's going to rip my hand open one day.

I wrote a non-emo poem (:

This Road

I have seen this road
in the tightening grasp of dawn, through
the misted-up windows of the school bus
where massive jams and blinking red lights
shine under the dim sky. Headlights and horns
unrelenting. And amidst it all, a slash of orange in the clouds.

I have seen this road
quiet and dreaming, at midmorning. Yellow light
waltzing on the black tarmac;
a few cars scurrying past.
And a sheepish tourist with a backpack.
Sunglasses.

I have seen this road
scorched by the sun.
Not dawn-bright, or lazy-bright,
but burning bright,
each blink of light a hammer blow
like schoolbag-heavy footsteps on hot cement.

I have seen this road
glowing golden, warm,
sunlight-slanting-through-branches golden.
The day's late years come peeping through half-translucent leaves,
yawning their way home.

I have seen this road
through a veil of grey,
still recognizable.
Two under one little umbrella
through puddles, squealing to the bus stop.
Shivering in shelter with great heavy teardrops battering the roof.

And I have seen this road
shining-wet and washed,
like freshly-turned damp soil,
smelling faintly
of green things and lost rain.

Guess which road this is xP

I've been writing random poetry (: I love poetry, but I'm not too good at it. Oh. Dear. I better get back to typing my RS minutes.

how,
how i loved your smile
and the way
it lit up a light
inside you, inside me
so bright!
when you smiled, you set wings free.

when
you smiled
i could imagine
that we weren't lovebirds in a golden cage
or shining goldfish in a round fishbowl
i could imagine the wind wasn't cold,
and the rainclouds weren't crying,
and the sparrows were flying.

who
were we, then,
to smile? nobody, anybody,
somebody
or two somebodies
sitting on the grass
and smiling at the storm
because we sat at its eye?

what
did we do?
we caught the speckled sparrows,
and we let the lovebirds out of their golden cage
and watched them fly
into the storm.
fluttering feathers, wings torn.

but why?

The next poem is very...vindictive.

if you were made of glass,
i would hit you,
and hit you again,

till you shattered
into a million fragments

then
you would know how heartbreak feels.

but after that, i'd kneel on the floor
and cut myself on shards
of memories,
pain.
crying over
diamond tears and broken glass-dreams.
